This week has been a week full of inspiration, creativity, excitement and epiphanies. I have had some major clarifications arise for my dance company and will be unveiling a completely new branding in a few weeks. For the first time in my life my purpose feels so clear and I'm really excited! I can't wait to share all the details with you :-)
I read a really great ebook this week called Finance Your Dance by Ashani Mfuko. If you are looking for any kind of help with your business plan, clarifying your goals, or learning how to maximize your profits, I highly recommend this book. Her ideals about the arts truly resonate with me. She believes that the dance world (I would say the arts in general) need to stop talking about how we're poor starving artists and do something about it. Just because we're artists does not mean we deserve to work for free nor that we should suffer from financial insecurity. I for one have felt this way my entire career and have been working towards building my own "empire" for a long time. Her book has allowed me to see my business in a new light and really helped to clarify the tiny details that will make my business even more successful. You can find a link to her book HERE.
Life comes together in crazy ways. I've been doing a lot of reflecting on why my journey happened the way it did. If I knew 10 years ago what I know now I may have booked a few more gigs or may have been able to keep up with my schedule better. That thought makes me a little angry and a little sad, but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way. My experiences with bad health, over work, and stress have given me more knowledge that I can use to inform every future decision I make. By speaking out about my experiences I can help others to see different paths to take. God has a greater purpose for me and this week its all blossomed like a spring field. I feel ready to conquer the world and let nothing stand in my way.
My week had a few ups and downs (like most people) but overall I've been feeling relaxed and glowing. I'm enjoying the little things now. Satruday morning as I was rushing out the door to drive to work I noticed that the sky was so beautiful. The sun was just starting to peek out and created a whimsical stream of light blue amidst the grey clouds. Is there a picture? Only in my mind; I'm learning to live in the moment, not just document it. It was a nice start to the day.
This week I encourage you all to take some time to reflect on your purpose. Are you living the life you want to? What is your passion? I hope you can feel the love and inspiration I'm feeling right now; there's nothing better than knowing your living your life full out.

This is awesome! Thank you so much for reading and sharing my e-book Catherine! I appreciate it very much! We all can look back and say, "if I knew then, what I know now", but what matters most is that we learn from our experiences (and that of others), and make smarter decisions going forward. Great blog! I look forward to reading more and staying in touch with you! Be blessed my dear! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ashani for the feedback and writing your ebook! I look forward to staying in touch as well :-)
