Positively Pasta!

Today I'm feeling great; I feel both very serene and positive. While thus far its been a very busy week of auditioning/choreographing Beauty and The Beast at camp and teaching dance after camp hours, I don't feel out of control or stressed out. I'm beginning to see that everything will get done, no task is impossible and keeping my mind/body well taken care of is worth all the effort. Sitting on the ferry this evening I looked out at the beautiful the sunshine and thought, "How lucky am I to be able to do what I love every day?" I've been working at having more grateful moments throughout the day; today was a success. :-) I've been trying to find a pasta recipe that reminds me of red sauce and combines well on The Body Ecology. Since I'm still on stage 1 of The Body Ecology Diet, rice and quinoa pasta are out of the question for a few more weeks. A few weeks ago I did some searching on the Body Ecology website  and discovered Miracle Noodles. They ar

Beaches, Work Transitions, and Pizza

I love going to the beach. My fiancé and I get up early and usually hit the beach no later than 9am which for me is the best time to be there. It's quiet, peaceful, not too hot, and not crowded. There's nothing better than listening to the sound of the ocean and enjoying the sunshine. We had a great day and enjoyed lunch at our usual spot, Martell's Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant, NJ. Our romance began there and it's become a summer tradition for us. This week was a busy week of transition between my regular job and my summer job. What is it I do you ask? During the school year I teach dance for several studios and over the summer I choreograph musicals for Summers and LREI's Musical Theater Workshop. I truly love what I do but going from starting work at 3pm to starting at 8am takes a little adjusting. Meal planning was essential for me this week as getting home at 6pm and then starting dinner was not going to happen. For Father's Day I made a huge batch of

Pittsburgh Adventures!

What an amazing week I had! I was lucky enough to be off for an entire week (a rarity in my schedule) and was able to spend it visitin myBFF Mary in Pittsburgh. She also gave me a great excuse to visit by getting me a ticket to go with her and her cousin Michele to The Package Tour concert for my birthday. I was stoked to live out my childhood boy band fantasy and celebrate her little one's 1st Birthday! Now I know what you're thinking, what is that you're drinking? I made a decision before I left for Pittsburgh that I was going to stay strictly on Body Ecology no matter what. So at the concert I stuck to sparkling water and lime and honestly had the best time. Keeping a bubbly drink in your hand really helps you feel like you have a special drink without going off track of your new healthy lifestyle. What's even better is you wake up with no hangover and you feel like a million bucks. Was it hard eating while I was away? A little, but as I've said before

Love Your Choices

It's been a little while since I've blogged, work has been a little crazy with be of th year student evaluations, coordinating my fall schedule, recitals, and summer gig planning. All of this is very exciting and has been going really well. Right now I'm very content with how life is going :) How has life been on Body Ecology you ask? While at times it can be a little challenging, with diligent planning, lots of support from the fiancé, and keeping positive thoughts I'm happy to say its been a little over one month and I have been sugar, dairy, and gluten free. Have I had my moments, yes. When you get home from a long day of work and you have to cook/plan/organize your meals for the next day, it's not always easy. What keeps me going is how great I feel. My energy levels are high, I feel much more relaxed/calm and for the first time in years I don't feel like I'm constantly sick with allergies, a cold, or stomach issues. In the past 2 weeks I've succ
